Travel: The nearest Station is Gata de Gorgos which is 10 minutes away. It is equidistant from Alicante and Valencia Airports
Local attractions: The marina and fishing port of Javea is the place to head for to mingle with locals walking and socialising along the promenade in the evenings. A string of cafes offer pleasant places to sit and enjoy a drink or ice cream. As one would expect the local fish dishes are highly recommended. It is also possible to buy fish directly from the fishing boats in the harbour to take back to the holiday home and barbecue. Children like to throw pebbles from the beach into the sea or go for a paddle. The mountains and ridges of the natural park present serious climbers with a few challenges, scale the heights of Subida al Montgó to be rewarded by far reaching views of the Gulf of Valencia. The town of Denia snuggles into the coast. A busy port and naturally lively town greets and says farewell to the ferries that ply to and from from the Balearic islands.
Good places to visit: The beaches of Costa Blanca are within reach by car for days out. The beautiful beaches of Javea are only 15 minutes away and Denia is half and hour.
Annual Events: The local fiesta season begins seven weeks after Easter. Expect a riot of food, colour and fireworks.
Good places to eat: There are three bars in the village of Jesus Pobre, two of which serve food, although with a house rental, simply buy your fresh ingredients and cook the kind of food you prefer to eat of you wish. A couple of restaurants are also there to tempt you with Spanish specialities. The narrow streets have overhanging balconies and ornate wrought iron grilles - all very Spanish and always interesting to explore. In summer they are filled with pots of geraniums and the luminous coloured bougainvillea.
Short Breaks: Yes - The minimum number of days for a short break is 2
